Interim Product LeaderRose Tighe

Partnerships, integration and business model change.

I lead Product through partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions and changes of business model, where the commercial deal, the technology and the customer experience all have to land together.

Most leaders own one of those three. I keep all three moving at once, because each limits what the others can do, and I bring the people behind them into one plan, from the delivery team to the board.

Where I'm brought in

Complex situations, several parties

01

Commercial partnerships and platform integration

Designed the partnership sprint framework a major media company's teams used with broadcasters, streaming services and technology partners.

02

Joint ventures and market entry

Led discovery for a joint venture between a UK media company and an African TV company, adapting the proposition for new markets.

03

Post-acquisition integration and re-platforming

Bringing two platforms and two teams together without disrupting the customers who depend on them.

04

Start-up investment and integration

Ran partnership sprints with start-ups in a global media group's corporate accelerator, testing what each could add to the core business.

05

Business model change

Led the tiger team that validated new B2B data-licensing opportunities for a consumer review platform.

How I work

Most of the work is alignment

The work sits in the gaps between functions and between companies, where incentives differ and one team often knows about a risk the others don't.

  • A plan can be on time and still deliver the wrong thing.
  • The people closest to the customer usually know why it won't work.
  1. One missionTeams from different functions, and often different companies, agree the shared outcomes and each party's incentives.
  2. Find what will trip it upI surface the risks people know about but haven't raised, including earlier attempts and the reasons people resist.
  3. Test before committingThe assumptions behind the plan are checked against real customer evidence before the money is locked in.
  4. Stay open on the solutionWe explore the options before converging, rather than fixing on the first answer.
